Today in Croatia: HPB’s Business Results and the Merger Program of Jadranska Banka

We announce the most important events in Croatia for Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

ZAGREB – The Conference of the Defense Industries of Croatia and Israel will be held organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia (MORH). The participants of the Conference of the defense industries of the two countries will be addressed by the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin. This is the second day of the official visit of the Israeli president to Croatia (Hotel Westin, Izidora Kršnjavog 1). Journalists must arrive at the conference no later than 8:30 AM.

KARLOVAC – The marking of the beginning of construction of the third phase of the left bank embankment of the Kupa River upstream from the railway bridge in Karlovac to Brodarci. The value of the contracted works is 3.5 million kuna, and the expected duration of the works is one year. This is one of the first measures in the Flood Protection Project in the Kupa River basin in the Karlovac and Sisak areas. The total value of the Flood Protection Project in the Karlovac area is 670 million kuna. In the wider area of Karlovac, four rivers converge: Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica, and Dobra, making flood protection in the Karlovac area extremely important due to the frequent occurrence of high waters, which is why so-called box barriers were installed in March as a temporary flood defense system. The marking of the beginning of the works will be attended by the Minister of Environment and Energy Tomislav Ćorić, the Prefect of Karlovac County Damir Jelić, the Mayor of Karlovac Damir Mandić, and the General Director of Hrvatske vode Zoran Đuroković. ZAGREB – The leaders of Hrvatska poštanska banka (HPB) and Jadranska banka will present the Management and the merger program of Jadranska banka at a press conference, and the business results of HPB for the first half of this year will also be announced. As announced, the conference will be attended by the President of the Management Board of HPB Tomislav Vuić and the President of the Management Board of Jadranska banka Mato Filipović. At the beginning of July, HPB signed a contract with the State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Rehabilitation (DAB) for the purchase of all 4.75 million shares of Jadranska banka, thus becoming the sole owner of that bank based in Šibenik (11:00 AM, HPB, Jurišićeva 4).
