We announce the most important events in Croatia for Monday, July 23:
ZAGREB – Minister of Science and Education Blaženka Divjak and her assistant Vlado Prskalo will announce 25 vocational schools that have been designated as Regional Competence Centers (12 PM, Ministry of Science and Education, Multimedia Hall, Donje Svetice 38). The competence centers bring new equipment to vocational schools, new accommodation capacities for students and teachers, more practical experience for students, entry of students into the labor market, close cooperation with employers, and teacher education. A total of 42 applications were received for the Public Call to founders for the nomination of vocational schools as regional competence centers. After evaluating the submitted development plans of these applications, a decision was made to appoint 25 competence centers that will be presented at a press conference.
ZAGREB – The session of the Zagreb City Assembly brings a proposal for the City of Zagreb to borrow 250 million kuna for the realization of capital investments, namely for the construction of unclassified roads, the construction of cultural institutions, preschool, school, and sports facilities, health institutions, and social welfare facilities. The construction of the Sljeme Cable Car in the amount of 80 million kuna should also be financed from the loan. The proposed agenda of the session also includes a contract for the procurement of containers for separate waste collection. According to this contract, 64,400 containers are planned to be procured for 76 million kuna, of which 85 percent is provided by the European Union, and 15 percent by the City of Zagreb. The agenda of the session also includes a conclusion from opposition clubs on the urgent suspension of works at the Square of Victims of Fascism (9 AM, Old City Hall, St. Cyril and Methodius Street 5/I, Hall “A”).
