One Million Overnight Stays in Mali Lošinj Two Days Earlier Than Last Year, Two Million in Dubrovnik – Three Days

Mali Lošinj has reached one million overnight stays this year two days earlier than last year, while Dubrovnik achieved two million overnight stays this year three days earlier than last year, reported the local tourist boards.

In Mali Lošinj, from the beginning of the year until July 22, there were 1.04 million overnight stays, which is five percent more compared to the same period last year. Dubrovnik also reached two million overnight stays on Sunday, July 22, three days earlier than last year, according to data from the eVisitor system.

Mali Lošinj – five percent more overnight stays than last year

In Mali Lošinj, compared to the same period last year, there was a six percent increase in arrivals and a five percent increase in overnight stays, specifically 9,153 more arrivals and 44,431 more overnight stays.

According to the Tourist Board of the City of Mali Lošinj, 86 percent of overnight stays were made by foreign tourists, with 67.4 percent coming from the four main markets – Slovenia, Germany, Austria, and Italy. They are followed by guests from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, and France.

Domestic tourists accounted for 14 percent of overnight stays, which is an increase of five percent compared to last year.

Camps accounted for the highest number of overnight stays with a share of 34 percent and a five percent increase. Hotels follow with a share of 23 percent of total overnight stays, which have seen a nine percent annual increase.

There was also an eight percent increase in private accommodation, which holds a share of 17.8 percent of total overnight stays.

Other hospitality facilities have a share of 11 percent, while non-commercial tourist facilities account for 14.2 percent, according to the Tourist Board of the City of Mali Lošinj.

Dubrovnik – four percent more overnight stays than last year

As of yesterday, Dubrovnik recorded 2,010,250 overnight stays, which is four percent more than last year, and this result has been declared a record by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board. Currently, nearly 26,000 tourists are staying in Dubrovnik.

From January 1 to July 22, Dubrovnik hosted 626,548 tourists, which is six percent more than in the same period in 2017.

In hotel accommodation, there were 354,249 guests, five percent more than last year, and three percent more overnight stays, totaling 1,114,083.

In private accommodation, there were 202,074 tourist arrivals, or 11 percent more than last year, and 677,770 overnight stays, which is an eight percent annual increase.

The most numerous guests by arrivals and overnight stays are from the United Kingdom, the USA, and Germany.
