Representatives of the Zagreb City Assembly on Monday accepted, by majority vote, the proposal of the Zagreb mayor regarding the acceptance of the right of first refusal for the property of the Operational Building of the former Iskra factory in Bužanova, valued at approximately 8.7 million kuna, as well as the proposal regarding the acceptance of the right of first refusal for the business premises of the City Cellar at Trg bana Jelačića 10, valued at 9.4 million kuna.
The City Office for Culture proposed the adoption of a conclusion regarding the acceptance of the right of first refusal for the property of the Operational Building of the former Iskra factory, with a total area of 1023 square meters, based on the offer from Allegheny Financial Projekt d.o.o., considering that it is a space that can be used for public purposes, a library or similar activities, or for the needs of artists’ studios, etc., as stated in the justification.

In the justification of the proposal regarding the acceptance of the right of first refusal for the business premises of the City Cellar (business space in the basement and ground floor of the City Savings Bank building, now Zagrebačka banka) based on the offer from Centar gradski podrum d.o.o., it is stated that the City Office for Culture proposes this because it is a property in the very center, and the space can be used for the needs of the City for public or similar purposes, or for the traditional hospitality purpose that has been taking place at that location for decades, which means that this space has not only been part of the hospitality sector but also part of the cultural heritage of the City “which should certainly be preserved in an appropriate manner.”
