In the Technology Park in Dračevec, 15 Entrepreneurs Want to Move In, Including Mate Rimac

A public call for expressions of interest for the use of space in the future technology park in Dračevec has attracted 15 entrepreneurs. According to collected data, nearly 1500 employees would work in the park, and thanks to this project, around 400 new jobs would be created, the Split Regional Agency reported on Friday.

“According to the collected data on this expression of interest, around 1470 employees would work in the technology park in Dračevec, and thanks to this project, 404 new jobs would be created in the Split area,” said Eremut Erceg, director of the Split Development Agency, at a press conference.

According to the presented data, 15 entrepreneurs responded to the public call, requiring more than 24,000 square meters, of which over 21,000 is for offices and around 3000 for production facilities.

The government decided at a meeting held in early May in Split to donate real estate in the area of the former St. Cross Barracks in Dračevec for the construction of the technology park and the traffic center of the City of Split.

According to the advisor to the mayor of Split, Andre Krstulović Opara, Krešimir Budiša, the technology park project in Dračevec is worth 10 million euros, and the new traffic center is also valued at 10 million euros.

Budiša explained that the construction of the central building of the future technology park is intended to be financed mostly from EU funds and should start in the second half of 2019. The move-in is planned for the end of 2020.

In response to journalists’ questions, Budiša stated that the well-known Croatian entrepreneur and innovator in the automotive industry, Mate Rimac, has also shown interest in office space in the future technology park in Dračevec.
