Dubrovnik Declared the Best Congress Destination in the Region

Dubrovnik has been declared the best congress destination this year in the category of those that can host more than a thousand participants, according to the selection of Congress Magazine.

Dubrovnik has been on the list of the best congress destinations according to the evaluations of experts and that magazine for years, having often been first, and has also received the “Meeting Star” award for exceptional achievements in congress tourism in the region and Europe.

This year, 84 congress destinations in the region were evaluated based on 75 criteria, ranging from natural and cultural aspects to safety, general and traffic infrastructure, as well as tourist and congress infrastructure, quality of life, and more.

In a secret ballot, Dubrovnik received an overall score of 4.33 out of a possible 5, placing it ahead of Villach and Klagenfurt in Austria. Besides Dubrovnik, the top ten from Croatia also includes Split in 4th place, Šibenik in 5th, Opatija in 7th, and Rovinj and Poreč in 9th and 10th places.

“Dubrovnik has once again proven to be a successful European, as well as a global tourist and congress destination, and such awards are the result of the joint efforts of the tourism economy in the congress segment, from hoteliers and specialized organizers of business meetings and events to the Congress Office of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board. The award is also a confirmation of excellence and an incentive for further work on enhancing the quality of the congress offer and Dubrovnik as a destination as a whole,” emphasize the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
