Combined Ticket for Plitvice, Paklenica, Velebit, Zavratnica, Baraćeve Caves – 300 kuna

At the Public Institution National Park Plitvice Lakes, the newly constructed panoramic viewpoint located at Entrance 1 of the National Park was ceremonially opened, and at the same occasion, a new, combined ticket for nine tourist destinations in Lika was presented.

The director of the National Park Plitvice Lakes, Tomislav Kovačević, emphasized in his welcoming address that the new viewpoint will relieve the extremely visited existing viewpoint and allow a larger number of visitors to enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the world – the view of the Great Waterfall. Kovačević highlighted that the viewpoint was entirely built by employees of the National Park specialized in maintaining and constructing trails and bridges within the Park, which he is extremely proud of.

On the occasion of the opening of the viewpoint, Director Kovačević also presented the combined ticket for the Lika destination, which is part of a unique project for sustainable tourism development and branding of the destination in Croatia and which, in addition to visiting the National Park Plitvice Lakes, allows visitors to visit other protected natural areas and attractions within the Lika destination – the National Park Paklenica, the National Park Northern Velebit, the Velebit Nature Park (Zavratnica Cove and Cerovac Caves), the Grabovača Cave Park and the Baraćeve Caves, the Croatian Center for Indigenous Species of Fish and Crayfish of Karst Waters, and the Nikola Tesla Memorial Center.

The project of the combined ticket was realized in accordance with the principles of sustainable development that the National Park Plitvice Lakes adheres to, continuously strengthening cooperation with the local community and stakeholders outside the National Park area. The combined ticket has been on sale since July 1, 2018, at the sales points of the National Park Plitvice Lakes (Entrance 1, Entrance 2, and Flora), and visitors can use vouchers for visits to protected natural areas and attractions until October 31, 2018. The ticket is available at a price of 300 kuna for adults and 200 kuna for children (7-18 years).

“Plitvice Lakes are a well-presented and valued phenomenon admired by the whole world, which is best demonstrated by the continuous increase in the number of visitors, especially visitors from Japan, whose number has increased by more than 40% this year. It is also important to note that of the total number of tourists visiting the Republic of Croatia, 10% of them also visit the National Park Plitvice Lakes,” said Minister Gari Cappelli at the opening of the viewpoint.
