The City of Čakovec has achieved the maximum number of points in the research conducted by the Institute of Public Finance on the transparency of budgets of counties, cities, and municipalities, which included all 576 local budgets in Croatia.

The aim of the research was to determine the quantity and timeliness of published documents, as well as the quality of the official websites of local units. Openness was measured by the number of published budget documents on the official websites of local units from November 2017 to March 2018, which are: the annual budget execution for 2016, the semi-annual budget execution for 2017, the proposed budget for 2018, the adopted budget for 2018, and the budget for citizens for 2018.
– When such recognition is awarded by the Institute of Public Finance, which has impartially concluded based on detailed research and analysis that, according to all parameters, the City of Čakovec has achieved the maximum number of points, we know that we are doing a good job – said the Mayor of Čakovec, Stjepan Kovač, emphasizing that the citizens of Čakovec have access to information about all activities and projects that the city is implementing at all times and that this is a practice they will not abandon.
