Swedish aircraft and defense systems manufacturer Saab is launching a new generation of the anti-ship missile system RBS15 Gungnir, with a new missile featuring an increased range of over 300 kilometers and a highly advanced target seeker that enables targeting of any objective under any circumstances. The new system continues the tradition of strong and autonomous capabilities of the RBS15 missile family while utilizing a design that meets future defense requirements.
The Baltic Sea coast has laid the foundation for the development of the RBS15 missile family, designed for the most demanding areas and customers. The very environment in which the missile was developed already presents countless threats, but conflict scenarios are variable. Therefore, armed forces need to develop their capabilities, and RBS15 Gungnir provides the appropriate solution.

“RBS15 Gungnir is offered in both configurations, for launch from the air and from the ground, providing enhanced capabilities compared to other missile systems available on the market. With a new increased range of over 300 kilometers and a highly advanced target seeker, the new missile allows for targeting any objective under any circumstances,” emphasized Görgen Johansson, Senior Vice President and Head of the Dynamics Division at Saab.
The option to target from the air as well as from land and sea enables coordinated attacks with multiple projectiles against a wide spectrum of maritime and land targets, thereby increasing flexibility and mission success.
