Zagreb: Emergency Services Provided Assistance to Collapsed Fans 500 Times

During the welcome of the Croatian national football team at Ban Jelačić Square, emergency teams provided assistance to collapsed fans 500 times, according to the director of the Emergency Medical Institute, Silvija Hunyadi Antičević.

Five emergency teams provided assistance to people who collapsed due to prolonged standing in the sun without food and drink, said Hunyadi Antičević.

All were attended to in time, receiving water and sugar to recover, and the medical teams were assisted by on-duty stewards, police officers, and firefighters.

The Office for Emergency Management and the Public Fire Brigade of the City of Zagreb are distributing water to fans at the top of Praška Street and at the roundabout in Bakačeva Street, but most of the approximately 110,000 gathered in the central Zagreb square and surrounding streets cannot reach those locations.
