Zagreb’s Dukat, led by Alen Fontana, announced that it will invest 50 million kuna in the development of primary milk production in its purchasing area this year, along with an additional five million kuna in non-repayable funds for farmers to purchase heifers, with the aim of encouraging milk production.

As part of this, there will also be an increase in the purchasing prices of fresh raw milk on two occasions, in July and September, each time by eight lipa per liter. Thus, in September, a liter of milk will be paid 16 lipa more than in June.
At Dukat, this move is interpreted as a response to dramatic trends in domestic primary milk production and alignment with the movements of milk purchasing prices in the European Union markets.
