Split-Dalmatia County Allocates Two Million Kuna to Accommodation Providers

The Split-Dalmatian County Prefect Blaženko Boban today signed contracts with 88 accommodation providers in households as part of the program to enhance the quality of the tourist offer in the area of the county for the year 2018, worth two million kuna.

Accommodation providers thus received non-repayable funds from the budget of Split-Dalmatian County as part of two measures – improving the quality of existing household facilities and encouraging the categorization of a larger number of new household facilities in the category of “holiday homes” in the hinterland of Split-Dalmatian County.

For the first measure, where a maximum of 30 thousand kuna can be obtained, 57 interested parties applied, while for the second measure, 33 applicants will receive maximum support of 75 thousand kuna.

“My motto is that the county must be open to every citizen, whether through student, pupil, or maternity support, family farms, and energy renovation, but it should be accessible to every citizen because it is public money of the county. After all, nothing is given to them for free because it is their money. Given the transparency and absolute openness of the competition, we have a very large number of applicants, but since we allocated two million kuna from the budget for these two measures, some of them remained below the line. For them, we will allocate 300 thousand kuna from the autumn budget revision,” said Prefect Boban.
