Since last Sunday, clinker has been loaded onto the ship Harriett at the Sv. Jure cement factory in Kaštel Sućurac, which is embarking on an oversea voyage of more than 5,000 miles to the Dominican Republic. Its final destination is the port of Rio Haina on the southern coast, carrying 20,000 tons of clinker.

– This is not the first export to the Dominican Republic: a cement ship was sent to this market back in 2000. It is also interesting to mention January 2017 when a ship carrying our cement was sent to Manaus, a Brazilian port located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. And although overseas sales of cement from our factories are not a common practice, primarily due to logistical reasons, opportunities like this occasionally arise due to the well-known quality of our cement, said Goran Lončar, Director of Strategic Planning at CEMEX Croatia.
