On Wednesday, the public bicycle system with two terminal points and eight city and four mountain bicycles was officially launched in Drniš and made available for citizens, as announced on Wednesday by the Nextbike public bicycle system.

The public bicycle system in the Drniš area was established within the project “Improvement of Tourism Development and Preservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage,” which is valued at approximately 1,879,000 euros and is co-financed by 85 percent from EU funds.
“This is the first public bicycle system in the Dalmatian hinterland, which is increasingly profiling itself as a cycling tourism destination. Drniš thus demonstrates its investment in sustainability and environmental protection, along with the application of modern technologies and adherence to European trends,” the statement emphasized.
It is added that the goal is for the Adriatic hinterland to become recognizable as an outdoor destination, to enhance the quality of life through sustainable use and visitation of natural and cultural heritage sites, and to contribute to the economic development of the local community through the development of sustainable tourism products.
