The parliamentary club of representatives of the Labor and Solidarity Party of Milan Bandić, Reformists, and independent representatives, which is part of the parliamentary majority, has its candidate for the governor of the Croatian National Bank, former Minister of Economy Ljubo Jurčić.

The club sent a proposal with Jurčić’s name to the parliamentary procedure on Tuesday, it was learned in the Croatian Parliament.
Jurčić is an economic expert and a university professor at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb.
The Parliament should decide before the summer break, that is, by the end of the week, who will be at the helm of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) for the next six years, since Governor Boris Vujčić’s term expired on Sunday, July 8, and his deputy Relja Martić’s term expires on July 17.

The Parliament appoints the governor on the proposal of its Committee for Elections and Appointments, with the opinion of the Committee for Finance and State Budget.
