Emirates SkyCargo Receives Significant Pharmaceutical Recognition for the Second Consecutive Year

Emirates SkyCargo has received the prestigious Carrier Award for Reliability and Excellence (CARE) for reliability and excellence awarded by DHL Global Forwarding for the transport of temperature-sensitive medicines.

The award was presented to Henrik Ambak, Senior Vice President of Emirates, Cargo Operations Worldwide, at the 18th Global Life Sciences & Healthcare Conference organized by DHL in Baveno, Italy. The DHL CARE award is given to cargo carriers that provide exceptional service, quality, ground services, and innovative technologies and processes for pharmaceutical shipments.

This is the second consecutive time that Emirates SkyCargo has won the DHL CARE award, and this achievement strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s position as one of the world leaders in the cargo industry for the transport of medicines.

In the last three years, Emirates SkyCargo has invested in developing state-of-the-art infrastructure and a range of sophisticated solutions for the safe transport of temperature-sensitive medicines across its network of 160 destinations on six continents.

Emirates SkyCargo operates the world’s largest multifunctional hub in Dubai with over 8,600 square meters of dedicated handling space for pharmaceutical products through its two cargo terminals, Emirates SkyCentral DXB and Emirates SkyCentral DWC.

The volumes of medicines transported by Emirates SkyCargo have increased by more than 30% since their market introduction. The cargo carrier has developed innovative equipment such as Emirates Pharma Cool Dollies and White Cover, a range of thermal blankets, built in collaboration with DuPont, to ensure an enhanced level of thermal insulation for pharmaceutical cargo.

Emirates SkyCargo has gone a step further to ensure an uninterrupted cold chain for temperature-sensitive medicines by introducing pharmaceutical corridors. Through collaboration with ground service partners and other stakeholders at twelve stations, the cargo carrier offers additional protection from the point of origin to the destination for pharmaceutical shipments. Emirates SkyCargo will continue to work closely with its customers in the pharmaceutical industry to develop the next level of products and solutions for the timely and safe transport of temperature-sensitive medicines.
