Investment of 22 million kuna – ferry port Soline-Trogir opened

In Trogir’s Soline, a ferry port with an access road worth 19 million kuna was ceremoniously opened on Saturday, which is expected to shorten the travel time for residents of the islands of Drvenik Veliki and Mali.

Today is a historic day; a modern ferry port is finally opening, which will facilitate travel for islanders and guests, and increase the number of routes. In about ten days, a new bridge will be put into traffic, marking a new beginning for the city of Trogir, said Trogir Mayor Ante Bilić at the opening ceremony.

July will be written in capital letters in the history of Trogir, emphasizes Split-Dalmatian County Prefect Blaženko Boban, explaining that the ferry port and the upcoming opening of the Čiovo-mainland bridge should ease traffic around and in Trogir.

“The ferry port project is worth 19 million kuna, while the access road cost 3.2 million kuna; we have completed very significant projects and I hope we will not stop here,” the prefect stated.

Director of the County Port Authority Domagoj Maroević reminds that the construction of the new ferry port was completed in February last year, but the opening was delayed due to obtaining the occupancy permit, as the access road was problematic.

However, the new port is being put into operation today, and it will facilitate boarding and disembarking for residents of Drvenik Veliki and Mali, shortening the travel time to the islands from 20 minutes to half an hour.
