The name of the possible successor to the Governor of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) Boris Vujčić has not yet been revealed by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Friday, adding that it will be “known very soon”.
Boris Vujčić’s term as head of the HNB expires today, and the public still does not know who might be his successor.
“Next week, the Croatian Parliament will discuss and decide on the governor, the deputy governor, and three vice governors,” Plenković told reporters in Sofia, where he is participating in the 16+1 summit of Eastern and Central European countries and China.
“It has been agreed that everything will be resolved in a package,” he said.
When asked why the names are still unknown, Plenković replied that “they will be known very soon.” “The procedure is with the Croatian Parliament,” he added.

The President of the HDZ Parliamentary Club, Branko Bačić, announced earlier today in Zagreb that the ruling coalition will have a candidate for governor by Monday at the latest, adding that consultations are ongoing regarding all five top officials of the HNB.
“In the Parliament, we are awaiting the appointment of the governor, his deputy, and three vice governors. Consultations are underway regarding the selection of all five top officials of the HNB. I believe that we will have candidates for the governor and other HNB officials today, and at the latest by Monday, and we will vote on them next Friday,” Bačić reported.
