Musk Offers Assistance in Extracting Team from Thai Cave

Thai rescue teams found twelve missing boys and their assistant coach who disappeared in the Chiang Rai cave in northern Thailand on Monday, but extracting them from there is no simple task. It is believed that their exit from the cave is blocked by water that has risen due to heavy rains.

One rescuer, in an attempt to provide oxygen to the team while diving himself, ran out of it and lost his life. Continuous rain is a major problem that does not stop and therefore further complicates the situation. If the end of their season, which lasts from May to October, is waited for, the boys could remain trapped for months. Of course, this is not an option considering they have already been trapped for a long time without food and other basic living conditions.

The relentless situation has prompted tech mogul Elon Musk to offer the Thai authorities assistance from all his companies – Tesla, SpaceX, and Boring.Co. Musk is offering high-tech assistance in the rescue operation. Discussions are currently underway on how the additional resources he is making available could be utilized to extract the football team from the cave.

Among other things, his companies provide location tracking, water pumping, and ensure energy supply using Tesla Powerwall batteries. It is still uncertain whether the Thai authorities will accept the offer, reports Bloomberg.

Meanwhile, Musk has clarified on his social media, being careful not to ‘step on the toes’ of the Thai authorities, how his services could be of help.

“Boring.Co has advanced underground radars and is quite good at digging holes. I don’t know if the available electricity limits the water pumps or if the pumps are too small. If so, we could deliver charged Powerpacks and pumps. I assume the Thai government has this under control, but I am happy if there is a way to help,” Musk wrote on his Twitter.
