“I respect the fact that the Prime Minister is going to Sofia, that he has obligations. We will go by commercial line. This is nothing unusual. I have also traveled on commercial lines for state visits, for example to Italy or Iran,” said the president, adding that traveling on a regular airline is still cheaper than using a state aircraft.

“The travel cost is somewhere, I think, around 40 thousand kuna, including all members of the delegation. So the costs are twice as low as when it comes to a state aircraft and we all waived our daily allowances,” Grabar-Kitarović stated.

She will meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev before the match between Russia and Croatia.

Considering that she is going to the match officially and will have to be in the VIP box, not in the stands, she said it would not be appropriate to watch the match in a Croatian jersey. However, she announced that she would again go down to the locker room, regardless of the match result.
