Brodosplit and the Italian Fincantieri have signed two new contracts for the construction of outfitted sections for mega cruise ships, which is part of the long-term cooperation agreement between the two companies, under which Brodosplit is expected to generate an annual revenue of around 500 million kuna by 2025.
“Based on the long-term business-technical cooperation agreement, the Shipbuilding Industry Split and the Italian group Fincantieri have signed two new contracts for the construction of outfitted sections (grand blocks) for mega cruise ships being built in Italian shipyards,” Brodosplit announced.

As they state, Brodosplit will generate more than five million euros in monthly revenue based on these two contracts, as well as other contracts that are in preparation and will be signed soon, which will bring about 500 million kuna annually from 2019 to 2025.
“The long-term business-technical cooperation agreement until 2025 is the result of the successful collaboration between Brodosplit and one of the largest shipbuilding groups in the world, the Fincantieri group, which dates back to 2014, during which Brodosplit built and delivered outfitted sections (grand blocks) for three mega cruise ships that were constructed in their shipyards,” the statement reads.

The first contract pertains to the project for the construction of sections weighing over 1200 tons of steel outfitted with piping and locksmith components as well as electrical routes, with a delivery deadline in the first half of 2019. As explained by Brodosplit, this concerns the bow section of the ship’s hull, which will be loaded onto a barge and towed to the shipyard from the group where it will be assembled onto the ship.
The second contract assigns Brodosplit the project for the construction of the central part of the ship, with a total length of over 100 meters and a weight of over 3000 tons of steel, with a delivery deadline in the second half of 2019, which will be watertight sealed on both sides and towed independently in a floating state to the shipyard from the group, note the Split shipbuilding company.

Preparation is also underway for the engagement of a certain number of Brodosplit workers for temporary work in the shipyard owned by Fincantieri, for the execution of part of the specialist finishing works on a luxury passenger cruise ship.
“Our workers regularly perform certain jobs outside the Brodosplit circle, and some even outside the Republic of Croatia, just as Brodosplit sometimes uses the services of external workers, thus mutually complementing each other with the necessary personnel,” Brodosplit stated.
