Grmoja: Most will seek a discussion on the amendment of the decision on the investigative committee for Agrokor

Nikola Grmoja announced on Thursday that Most representatives, prompted by the latest scandal involving the emails of Deputy Prime Minister Martina Dalić, will submit a request for a discussion on the proposal to amend the Decision on the establishment of the investigative committee for Agrokor to the parliamentary procedure, in order to discuss this scandal and the overall situation in that conglomerate in the Parliament.

– We will submit a request for a discussion on the proposal to amend the Decision on the establishment of the investigative committee on Agrokor, which the ruling party has extinguished, which seeks to remove the point according to which the committee would deal with the financial reports of Agrokor that the State Attorney’s Office is investigating, Grmoja stated at a press conference in the Parliament.

The parliamentary Rules of Procedure allows them to do so, he says, so if they gather 30 signatures today, the proposal must be discussed in the Parliament within seven days “and then we will be able to talk all day about this scandal, as well as about the overall situation in Agrokor.”

– We will force the ruling party to discuss this. We need to agree on further steps of the opposition, Grmoja said.

Regarding the private electronic correspondence between Martina Dalić and consultants, published by the Index portal, he said it confirms what Most has been saying for a year, namely that Dalić led the entire process, that she shaped it, that all details related to the so-called lex Agrokor were communicated and handled outside institutions.

– The motives of Martina Dalić are shown by the fact that all the guys from our ‘Margaret Thatcher’ ended up in Agrokor with million-dollar rewards, Grmoja stated, adding that this is particularly controversial in this process and that this is why the former extraordinary commissioner for Agrokor, Ante Ramljak, had to resign.

The fact that the Prime Minister firmly defends the Deputy Prime Minister of his Government and claims that Most, as the then HDZ partner in the Government, knew everything about the process of drafting lex Agrokor, Grmoja interprets as an unsuccessful attempt by Andrej Plenković to shift the responsibility onto Most.

– If we are responsible, why did we then soon after leave the Government and vote against Minister Zdravko Marić and insist on transparency if we had any interest, he asked, emphasizing that none of the Most leaders are in the disputed email correspondence.

Most member Tomislav Panenić says that Dalić communicated the stance that all foreign investors should be told that without “cooperation” with the state they cannot achieve their goals.

– That message shows the state of society and politics, that politics still wants to oversee economic flows in a way that it is directly involved and part of every investment. I think this will have consequences on communication with any future significant potential investor, he warned.

As another important detail of this correspondence, he mentioned that Dalić, as he said, did not share her views with the Prime Minister, who at the end of 2016 announced the intention for Croatia to buy INA, which she did not support. “We did not know this while we were part of the Government,” he said.
