The British telecommunications and television company BT announced on Thursday that it will cut 13,000 jobs in the administration and management segment.
In conjunction with the announcement of its annual results, BT stated that it will eliminate jobs over the next three years to reduce costs by an additional £1.5 billion (€1.7 billion).

The savings will primarily affect administrative and support services, which they plan to relocate outside London, as well as middle management. At the same time, BT intends to hire around 6,000 new employees in customer operations and network implementation.
There are also plans to relocate from the global headquarters near St. Paul’s Cathedral in London’s financial district, the City. BT, the owner of the largest fixed and mobile networks in the UK, has significantly invested in the direct television broadcasting of football matches in the Premier League in recent years.
