Todorić: Plenković and Dalić are compromised by documentation, but they will continue to sell smoke

Former owner of Agrokor Ivica Todorić stated on his blog on Wednesday that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković “knows best how much powerful documentation exists that completely compromises Dalić, him, and the entire process” and assessed that “after the scandal with the emails, which reveals a private deal, they can only resign, but they will not do so.”

Todorić referred on his blog to the portal Index.hr, which published correspondence on Wednesday between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić and the author of “lex Agrokor,” which caused a stir in the public and demands from the opposition for her dismissal, even an investigation by DORH.

“From the emails, it is interesting that Martina Dalić informed consultants, during March, that she held a meeting with the leaders of one of the leading investors, who told her that they do not understand what is happening, that they are ready to continue financing Agrokor,” wrote Todorić and quoted an email that Dalić allegedly published – “They pretended to be stupid, and I pretended to be stupid too.”

Todorić added that he has “warned Mr. Plenković many times that the longer he waits, the bigger the problem will be,” and that he “really does not understand that they do not realize into what unnecessary situation, in a completely illegal manner, their activities in and around Agrokor have led, ultimately, the state itself.”

“For days they present alleged successes and sink deeper into a swamp of manipulation, serious violations of the law, complete lack of transparency, and lies, protecting the interests of the chosen ones who revel in unlawful, undeserved million-dollar profits,” asserted Todorić.

Noting that he expects the Prime Minister and Minister to hold a press conference where they will “try to sell smoke again with nice words,” Todorić stated that “after the scandal with the emails revealing a private deal and disrespect for democratic standards and the rule of law,” they could apologize to the Croatian people and offer resignations, but that will not happen because they “arrogantly use levers of power.”

Todorić posed the question “is Mr. Plenković aware that I was lured for the first time on February 26 last year to his office and that he, through Mrs. Dalić, suggested to me on March 16 to hand over the company. They came to the private owner and asked him to transfer his company to some SPV and for me to remove myself from my own company which I knew was promising, sensational, and that both I and Agrokor had made an immeasurable contribution to the Croatian state and the region.”

He also asked “is Plenković aware that he led the battle against me to seize my company? Is he aware that Mrs. Dalić sent some Croatian lawyers, as it is written in some email, to inform foreign investors that in Croatia ‘one cannot invest outside of the Croatian state.'”

“Plenković knows best how much powerful documentation exists that completely compromises Dalić, him, and the entire process. He must be aware that only a small part of the documents has been presented and shown. He will be able to come to press conferences every other day. But already what has been learned today is enough that they will again be criminally reported for their illegal actions,” concluded Ivica Todorić.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić on Wednesday, while leaving Banski dvori, briefly commented on the publication of her emails about Agrokor, stating that she considers herself responsible for jobs, and that she does not believe she has done anything illegal.
