The twelfth edition of the Combis Conference, one of the largest regional technology conferences, will be held from May 23 to 25 in Poreč. This year’s overarching theme of the conference, Be there. Create value., best describes the goal of the conference, which aims to provide participants with added business value through inspirational lectures by renowned speakers, IT presentations, case studies, and a series of mini-conference content focused on personal development, networking, and entertainment. Last year’s edition of the Combis Conference saw over 500 participants, placing the conference among the leading positions on the map of IT conferences in Croatia.
– Our intention is to cover 360 degrees and prepare both inspirational IT and non-IT content for each participant, strong networking, and a relaxing program. Our desire is to create the ideal atmosphere from scratch every year and provide a different (and better) conference experience that ultimately ensures added value for every participant. That is why this year we are placing a stronger emphasis on gamification, so that through ‘playing’ we can ensure a better experience for all participants, not only in the informal, relaxing part of the conference but also in the part dedicated to professional IT topics, highlighted Renee Saboti Slovenc, director of the Combis Conference.
Numerous mini-conference events will be infused with the element of gamification, specifically the opportunity to collect points as part of the large prize game CoCo Quest. For relaxation and unwinding, there is the CoCo Relax zone, CoCo Dating which will ensure casual networking, and for those who enjoy active mornings, CoCo Sport is organized, offering participants running, cycling, or hoverboarding. The conference space will also include CoCo Sponsors Street, which will be rich in various attractions prepared by the conference sponsors.
In addition to the casual part of the program, the Combis Conference has been addressing some of the most relevant topics in ICT for 12 consecutive years through various presentations to bring participants closer to the latest technologies and reveal ways to best utilize them in business, thereby becoming more advanced, flexible, competitive, and ultimately more successful in business.
Participants of the Combis Conference can expect excellent presentations from guest speakers this year as well. The first plenary lecture powered by HT titled ‘The Future and What to Do About it’ will be delivered by one of the world’s most respected futurists, according to the Huffington Post, Mark Stevenson. The author of the bestsellers ‘We do things differently’ and ‘An Optimist’s Tour of the Future’ and an expert on global trends and innovations is visiting Croatia for the first time, guesting at the Combis Conference.
At the COMBIS conference, the well-known expert on strategy implementation, Ricardo Vargas, executive director of the Brightline Initiative, will also be a guest. The plenary lecture powered by Cisco on the topic ‘Connecting Strategy Design and Delivery: Closing the Expensive Implementation Gap’ will focus on the challenges companies face when implementing created strategies and will provide firsthand advice on how to successfully bridge the gap between strategy creation and its implementation to positively reflect on results, as being able to successfully implement strategic projects and programs provides a strong competitive advantage.
The Brightline Initiative published disheartening data in 2017 showing that only one in ten organizations worldwide succeeds in achieving all of its strategic goals, and on average, as many as 20 percent of organizations do not realize the adopted strategy.
