Dalić believes she has done nothing illegal, Vrdoljak stated he will not tolerate crime

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić briefly commented on the publication of her emails regarding Agrokor as she was leaving Banski dvori on Wednesday, stating that she considers herself responsible for jobs and does not believe she has done anything illegal.

Unofficially, it is learned that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković is expected to make a statement on this case in the afternoon, after the award for European Speech of the Year, followed by Martina Dalić.

On Wednesday, the portal Index.hr published email correspondence between Dalić and the author of “Lex Agrokor”, which caused an uproar in the public and demands from the opposition for her dismissal, as well as an investigation by the DORH.

Vrdoljak: HNS will certainly not leave the Government

HNS President Ivan Vrdoljak announced on Wednesday that he will seek consultations and additional information from Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, after which he will articulate the stance regarding media reports about the correspondence of Deputy Prime Minister Martina Dalić with consultants and lawyers who worked on the drafting of the so-called lex Agrokor, but also stated that HNS will certainly not leave the Government “because Croatia does not need that”.

“Leaving the Government will certainly not happen because Croatia does not need that, nor do the employees of Agrokor, nor any other economic sector that will realistically stop economic growth, cause a drop in credit rating, and all that has been done well,” Vrdoljak stated to reporters in the Parliament.

He announced that HNS will seek additional consultations, emphasizing that crime cannot be tolerated in any way. “No one will tolerate crime, we are the first,” he stated.

He expressed his party’s stance on Agrokor, stating that today it is most important for that company not to go bankrupt, to reach a settlement, and to retain jobs, industrial production, and to preserve the entire system of Agrokor and all suppliers and producers.

When asked about the emails published by the Index portal, related to the communication between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić and Minister of Finance Zdravko Marić regarding the drafting of lex Agrokor, Vrdoljak responded that HNS did not participate in the drafting of that law or its adoption, meaning that at the time those emails were sent, HNS was not an integral part of the Government.

“Today I want to get full information on who all the stakeholders in power are who may have at some point abused their position to share some information, whether they are today with us in the Government or perhaps those who have left the Government,” he stated.
