Ministry of Defense Receives 300 Soldiers and Sailors into Active Military Service

The Ministry of Defense signed contracts on Tuesday for the admission of 300 soldiers and sailors who have arrived in the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia and who will be sent for specialist military training, after which they will be assigned to duties according to the needs of the Armed Forces.

In accordance with the new amendments to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, contracts for admission to active military service are being signed for the first time for a period of two years, after which it is possible to sign another contract for an indefinite period lasting up to 45 years of age for soldiers/sailors, replacing the previous three contracts for a fixed term – for four, five, and six years, as stated in the statement.

The Ministry of Defense reminds that the admission to active military service was conducted in accordance with the public competition announced by the Ministry of Defense on April 11, 2018.

By the end of the year, another admission is expected to fulfill the quota of 800 soldiers and sailors according to the Recruitment Plan for 2018. The first admission in March 2018 included 200 soldiers and sailors.

Selected candidates who have signed contracts for admission to active military service will be sent for specialist military training, or probationary work depending on gender, profession, and service, for a maximum of six months in the units of the Armed Forces, specifically in the Infantry Regiment in Đakovo, the Artillery-Rocket Regiment in Bjelovar, the Croatian Navy Training Center in Split, the Engineering Regiment in Karlovac, the Signal Battalion and the NBC Battalion in Pleso, the Croatian Air Force Training Center in Zemunik, the Air Defense Regiment, also in Zemunik, and the Logistics Training and Doctrine Center in Požega.
