In Croatia, 20,885 new passenger cars were sold in the first four months of this year, which is 21.7 percent or 3,729 vehicles more than in the same period last year, while in just this April, 7,046 new vehicles were sold, which is 12.2 percent more than last year when 6,280 found their way to customers, according to data from Promocija plus.
In the four-month period, Volkswagen (VW) sold the most new vehicles, 2,649. Opel is second (2,339), and Škoda is third (2,109). Renault is in fourth place with 2,014 cars sold, and Suzuki is fifth with 1,503.

At the same time, among the more expensive models, 673 Audis, 596 BMWs, 466 Mercedes, 35 Porsches, and 18 Jaguars were sold.
The most sought-after model in April was the Renault Clio with 639 units sold, and 343 Opel Corsas and 316 Škoda Octavias also left the showrooms.
Croatia is following the European trend of reducing the share of diesel vehicles. From January to the end of April, 11,307 gasoline cars were sold, or 54.1 percent of total sales, and 9,171 diesel vehicles (43.9 percent).
At the same time, only 6 owners chose an electric vehicle, while 272 opted for a hybrid.
