Istrian County Prefect Valter Flego assessed on Monday in Pazin that Istria was a large construction site in 2017 and that the year was marked by significant multi-year investments such as the continuation of the construction of the General Hospital in Pula, the project of expanding and reconstructing homes for the elderly, investments in school infrastructure, and other major investments in the economy.
“In the period before the elections, we worked tirelessly for the benefit of all citizens, and the results achieved in the elections were an additional motivation for us to harness our forces even more and embark on new breakthroughs both in the second half of the year and in the upcoming period,” said Prefect Flego while presenting his annual report at the County Assembly meeting.

Speaking about the execution of the budget for 2017, he emphasized that the fundamental financial document of Istrian County had at its disposal 923,459,251 kuna last year, which is 89.9 percent of the plan, and 2.8 percent more compared to the previous year.
“The annual report on budget execution shows a high degree of execution, which means it was well planned. We responsibly executed and implemented all projects and programs and assumed obligations. The surplus of operations in Istrian County and among its budget users demonstrates financial stability, security, and liquidity,” assessed Prefect Flego.
