During the official visit to Iran, which begins today and will last until May 9, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Martina Dalić, will be joined by the Croatian economic delegation organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK).
The economic delegation will visit the International Oil and Gas Exhibition in Tehran and the booth of the Croatian company IND-EKO. As part of the Iran-Croatia Economic Forum, the first meeting of the Joint Business Council of the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture will also be held, which was established at the end of last year with the aim of identifying and resolving issues in the economic cooperation between the two countries.
“This visit is the result of intensive cooperation between the Croatian and Iranian business communities over the past two years. Today, these ties are stronger than ever, and we believe that the results will not be lacking,” said Ivan Barbarić, Deputy President of HGK for International Affairs and the EU, on the occasion of the visit.
In 2017, in the total trade exchange of the Republic of Croatia with the world, trade with Iran accounted for 0.16%, placing Iran in 49th place in the total trade exchange of the Republic of Croatia with the world. In the total amount of exports from the Republic of Croatia, Iran ranks 82nd, while in imports it ranks 36th. Croatia exported 5.9 million USD to Iran in 2017, while it imported 62.0 million USD from Iran. There is significant potential for cooperation, particularly in the oil and gas sector, automotive industry, energy sector, shipbuilding, food industry, tourism, and railway sector.
