At the New Riva in the city center of Rab yesterday, a bus decorated with motifs of Rab was ceremoniously christened, which will promote the Island of Happiness throughout Europe.
The bus as a postcard of Rab is the crown of a very successful collaboration between the Austrian bus tour operator Sabtours from Linz and the hotel companies Valamar Riviera d.d. and Imperial d.d. Managed by Valamar for over 50 years. The custom of this bus tour operator is to decorate each new bus in the transport fleet with motifs of the destinations where their tourists stay, and since Austrian guests are loyal visitors to Rab and in accordance with a long-standing, successful tradition, it was decided that the new bus would be decorated with panoramic photographs of the historic core of the city of Rab with its bell towers and Paradise Beach in Lopar.
The realization of this initiative involved Sabtours, Valamar Riviera d.d. and Imperial d.d. Managed by Valamar, as well as two Tourist Boards on the island, TZG Rab and TZO Lopar, and the christening ceremony was attended by an Austrian delegation led by Carla Ramla, the owner of the Sabtours agency, and a Rab delegation led by the Mayor of the City of Rab Nikola Grgurić, representatives of Valamar Riviera d.d. and Imperial d.d., and representatives of TZG Rab and TZO Lopar.

In addition to the residents of Rab who joyfully welcomed the bus decorated with photographs of the Island of Happiness, tourists from Linz also attended the ceremonial presentation, having the unique opportunity to be the first to travel on this bus for their annual vacation in Rab. The ceremony was also attended by the director of the HTZ office in Vienna, Ranko Vlatković, and the bus was blessed by the Rab parish priest Monsignor Mladen Mrakovčić with a Croatian-German prayer.
