Representatives of the non-profit association “poVUCIzakulturu” will present their project, an authentic Croatian toy based on Croatian heritage, on the occasion of Europe Day and Open Door Day this Saturday in Brussels. Representatives of the association traveled to Brussels at the invitation of MEP Tonino Picula and the Committee of the Regions.
“At the Open Door Day, we will present Croatian cultural heritage with four products created by design students, inspired by cultural heritage. These are toys intended for preschool children, which can also serve as Croatian souvenirs,” says Tanja Tandara from the association poVUCIzakulturu.

The association is organizing a full-day workshop in Brussels on Saturday, inviting Croatian children in Brussels and all citizens to come and play with authentic Croatian toys.
“This is a great opportunity to present something that, in my opinion, has authentic cultural value. The fact that poVUCIzakulturu designs children’s toys adds particular weight to it,” said MEP Picula.
He emphasized that “this is a pioneering endeavor that can not only interest children in Croatia but can also, by presenting itself in European institutions, engage others to get acquainted with our cultural heritage.”

“It is extremely important that this type of toy can be presented as a tourist souvenir, and perhaps the authentic Croatian toy can be one of the things that will interest the children of our tourists,” adds Picula.
Picula, along with the association poVUCIzakulturu, also invited representatives of the Croatian Scout Association to Brussels, which he nominated for the European Citizen Award and invited to visit the European Parliament.
