Plenković Discusses with Dalmacijavino Workers, Legal Solutions Sought

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković met on Friday after the Government session with representatives of Dalmacijavino workers who protested demanding to be compensated with 64 million kuna in the bankruptcy proceedings that have been ongoing for years against the company, and after the meeting he stated that he understands the workers’ message and that consultations on the matter will continue.

“We understood the message of their request, which primarily concerns the issue of severance pay and potential ways of finding funds in various compensations regarding the real estate that Dalmacijavino still owns or has owned. We will try in further consultations and dialogue to see if there are legal and fair solutions,” said Prime Minister Plenković to reporters.

He added that at the meeting with Dalmacijavino workers, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Martina Dalić and Minister of Finance Zdravko Marić were also present. According to him, there is a continuous dialogue with the Ministry of Finance, which is responsible for this area, regarding Dalmacijavino.

When asked by reporters if anything specific was agreed upon at today’s meeting, the Prime Minister said that after a meeting that lasted fifteen minutes, “he cannot give a decisive answer to that question because it requires additional legal analysis.”

In response to a question about how he comments on the dissatisfaction of residents in the building, a single-occupancy hotel, on Vukovarska Street, which was donated to the city of Split at today’s Government session, Plenković said that Minister of State Property Goran Marić explained at the session that nothing changes for the residents of that building, only the ownership of the building changes. “As for their rights (of the residents), they will be regulated in further activities in the most usual way,” said Prime Minister Plenković.
