The Primorje-Gorski Kotar Alliance (PGS) at a press conference in Rijeka on Friday reminded that the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković hinted three months ago at the possibility of abolishing the toll on the Krk Bridge, and since then nothing has happened in that direction.
PGS Presidency member Ana Trošelj stated that the initiative to abolish the toll on the Krk Bridge, to exempt residents of Gorski Kotar from paying tolls on the Rijeka-Zagreb highway through Gorski Kotar, and to exempt all residents of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County from tolls on the Rijeka-Rupa highway, initiated by this political party, is one of the few that has been accepted by the entire County Assembly.

Minister Butković called this initiative “cheap populism,” but also announced the possibility of abolishing the toll for Krk, said Trošelj. However, as nothing has happened since then, we assume that the minister expects us to forget about it, she added.
Honorary President of PGS Nikola Ivaniš stated that the Krk Bridge is the only one in Croatia for which a toll is charged. It was built with a significant contribution from the local population, especially from this area, and has officially been paid off, he reminded. The construction of the Pelješac Bridge is in preparation, and the bridge for Čiovo is under construction, and it has already been announced that no toll will be charged for either of them, which proves that the population of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is discriminated against, asserted Ivaniš.
