Industrial Product Stocks Increased by 6.4 Percent Year-on-Year

Total stocks of finished industrial products at manufacturers at the end of March decreased by 4.1 percent compared to the previous month, while they increased by 6.4 percent year-on-year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

According to the main industrial groupings (GIG), stocks of intermediate products at the end of March decreased by 6.3 percent compared to the previous month, and non-durable consumer goods by 5.3 percent. At the same time, energy stocks increased by 8.4 percent, capital goods by 8.1 percent, and durable consumer goods by 3 percent.

Year-on-year, stocks of intermediate products increased by 16 percent, durable consumer goods by 6.1 percent, and non-durable consumer goods by 5.4 percent. Energy stocks, on the other hand, decreased by 16 percent, and capital goods by 10.6 percent.

When observed by areas of the national classification of activities (NKD), stocks of finished industrial products at the end of March compared to the previous month decreased by 4.3 percent in the manufacturing industry, while in mining and quarrying they increased by 0.4 percent.

On a yearly basis, stocks of finished industrial products in March compared to the same month in 2017 increased by 6.5 percent in the manufacturing industry, and by 5.3 percent in mining and quarrying.
