DZS: In February, nearly 14 percent more passengers at Croatian airports

During February, 229,139 passengers passed through Croatian airports, which is 13.9 percent more compared to the same month last year, while in the first two months of this year, the number of passengers increased by more than 14 percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

In the first two months of this year, a total of 481 thousand passengers passed through Croatian airports, or 14.7 percent more than in the same period last year.

The latest data from the DZS shows that the highest number of passengers in February was recorded at Zagreb Airport, through which approximately 169,600 passengers passed, or 10 percent more than in the second month of last year.

Following is Split Airport, with 29,109 passengers and a growth of 28.5 percent, and Dubrovnik Airport, with 24,181 passengers and a growth of 6.2 percent.

Official statistics also show that the highest number of passengers who used Croatian airports in February were on flights arriving from or traveling to German airports, which were recorded at 61,313 or 17.7 percent more than in February last year.

On flights arriving from or traveling to airports in France, there were 12,512 passengers or 18.9 percent more, while traffic with British airports decreased by 27.2 percent, to 9,610 passengers.

The total number of aircraft landings and takeoffs at airports in Croatia in February 2018 was 4,098, which is an increase of 11.5 percent compared to February last year, according to DZS data.

The total cargo traffic at airports amounted to 868 tons, which is an increase of 70.9 percent compared to the same month last year.
