After the completion of the regular maintenance, the Nuclear Power Plant Krško was reconnected to the power grid on Tuesday evening, the plant reported on Wednesday.
The plant’s power, they added in a statement, will gradually increase after testing at low power.

During the regular maintenance, which began on April 1, nuclear fuel was replaced – in the reactor core, which consists of 121 fuel elements, 56 fuel elements were replaced with fresh ones.
An extensive standard maintenance and inspection program for mechanical, electrical, and measurement-regulation equipment was carried out, it is stated. Supervisory inspections confirmed that the systems, structures, and components are capable of performing their tasks, and planned investments in technological upgrades have also been completed.

Nine upgrades were carried out, divided into two parts: upgrades to increase the reliability of the plant and upgrades under the safety enhancement program. The maintenance, which included about 37,000 activities, was completed within the planned scope, the statement concludes.
