The President of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, on Tuesday in Okučani, when asked about the possibility of a grand coalition between HDZ and SDP, responded that HDZ is the ruling party in the country and has a majority with 77 parliamentary representatives, and believes there is no reason to create an atmosphere of possible early elections.

“There is no need for a grand coalition. We have our coalition partners with whom we want to complete this mandate, making it necessary for our economy to move forward, to make the best use of EU membership, to stop emigration, and to start bringing people back to Croatia,” emphasized Jandroković on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the military-police operation “Bljesak” in Okučani, where the entire state leadership came once again to pay tribute to the fallen Croatian soldiers, police officers, and defenders, and to express gratitude to their families for all they have done for Croatia.
“We have so many things to take care of that we do not need any political realignments or political instability,” Jandroković pointed out when asked about the grand coalition between HDZ and SDP.
He believes that someone now wants to create the impression and atmosphere that there will be early elections – for which, he says, there is no reason.Stier Will Not Be Excluded
When asked whether there will be an exclusion of political secretary Davor Ivo Stier at tomorrow’s meeting of the Presidency and National Council of HDZ, he replied that this will not happen. “There will be no exclusion.” He added that a regular meeting of the Presidency is being held tomorrow, as well as preparations for the Central Committee and the Reporting Assembly of HDZ.
“Bljesak” Broke the Backbone of the Greater Serbian Project
Regarding the commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of the military-police operation “Bljesak”, Jandroković stated that it is one of the more important days in Croatia’s recent history as it was the operation that broke the backbone of the Greater Serbian project. He emphasized that we should be grateful to all who gave their lives for Croatia and to their families.

He also mentioned that new generations should be informed about what happened there, as, he warned, some are trying to speak about history in a way that does not correspond to the truth and are trying to equate guilt. “Therefore, Croatia must take care to inform new generations about what really happened during the Homeland War, who was the aggressor and who defended themselves,” he said.
