Luka Rijeka generated 40.7 million kuna in the first quarter, expenses down by 4 percent

Luka Rijeka and the company Jadranska vrata achieved a total traffic of 1.074 million tons of cargo in the first quarter, which is 9 percent less compared to the same period last year, with the most significant drop, by 27 percent, occurring in bulk cargo, according to the report from the Luka Rijeka Group.

In the first three months, 193,302 tons of general cargo were transshipped, which is 17 percent less than in the same period last year, and 332,939 tons of bulk cargo, or 27 percent less than a year earlier, the report shows, published at the end of last week on the Zagreb Stock Exchange website. At the container terminal of Jadranska vrata in Brajdica, where Luka Rijeka holds a 49 percent stake, 548,472 tons of cargo were transshipped, which is 12 percent more, or 53,937 containers, which is 10 percent more than in the first three months of last year.

According to data from the report, the total revenues of the Luka Rijeka Group in the first quarter amounted to 40.7 million kuna, which is 9 percent less than in the same period last year, while total expenses simultaneously fell by 4 percent, to 39.5 million kuna. Operating revenues amounted to 35.9 million kuna, which is 14 percent less than in the first quarter of last year, while operating expenses decreased by 6 percent, to 38.3 million kuna. A pre-tax profit of 1.2 million kuna was achieved, 68 percent lower than last year in the same period, the Luka Rijeka Group report states.

This group consists of the parent company Luka Rijeka, which generates 99 percent of consolidated operating revenues, followed by Luka – transport and Stanovi.
