The President of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, on Monday sent a congratulatory message for May 1st, International Labor Day, emphasizing that the centuries-long struggle of workers should serve as a reminder of all that has been achieved in strengthening workers’ rights, as well as an incentive to create better working conditions, social security, social justice, and solidarity.

“On International Labor Day, we remember the historical events of May 1, 1886, when 40,000 workers protested in Chicago demanding recognition of their fundamental rights and dignity. Today, this centuries-long struggle of workers should remind us of all that has been achieved in strengthening workers’ rights. It should also serve as an additional incentive to continue creating conditions in Croatian society where every individual has equal opportunities for work, a dignified life from their work, as well as for social security, social justice, and solidarity – for the benefit of the further development of Croatia,” Jandroković stated in his message.
He congratulated all citizens of the Republic of Croatia on International Labor Day on behalf of the Croatian Parliament and in his personal capacity.
