“At that time, near the Lion Bridge, members of the Dance Club Spin from Zagreb, including senior citizens, will teach visitors to the Zoo the basic dance steps. Social dances such as waltz, foxtrot, and two-step will be performed,” announced the ZOO.
It states that this will be an opportunity for some to learn their first dance steps, for others to refresh their knowledge, and the educators of the Zoo and members of Spin are particularly looking forward to the citizens who will show what excellent dancers they have within them.
And there are excellent dancers in the animal world as well. Birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates exhibit movements similar to dancing. These movements are part of courtship, but sometimes also serve as warnings and intimidation.
International Dance Day has been celebrated since 1982. It was established to highlight the importance of dance as an artistic and sporting discipline.
