The main goals of the Zagreb Restaurateurs Association for the period from 2018 to 2022 are to reduce VAT on catering services to 10 percent and to abolish the consumption tax paid solely and exclusively by restaurateurs, reported the Association, which has also elected new leadership, headed by President Franz Letica.
The new leadership of the Association was elected at the constitutive session of the Assembly at the end of this week, and the newly elected president Franz Letica announced that during the mandate period 2018 – 2022, he will advocate for a reduction of the VAT rate on catering services and the abolition of the consumption tax paid solely and exclusively by restaurateurs.

“The consumption tax paid by restaurateurs ranges from 2 to 3 percent, and in Zagreb, it is currently 2 percent, which further complicates business for restaurateurs, and we believe it should be abolished. We will also advocate for an increase in the personal deduction to 5,000 kuna, which is currently 3,800 kuna, as well as for a reduction of the communal fee coefficient from 10 to 7, or through a future simple property tax and the simplification of legal acts, decisions, and regulations related to the performance of catering activities adopted by city, county, and state bodies,” Letica stated.
