Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić officially opened the premises of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Croatia to NATO in the new Alliance headquarters building in Brussels on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MVEP) announced.

The state-of-the-art facilities of the new headquarters have been built to meet the constantly changing and diverse tasks that NATO, as a political-military alliance, faces in maintaining peace and freedom for its member states, the announcement states.
The new building, with over 250,000 m2 and a design that allows for further expansion while also taking into account the environment and energy consumption, provides space for 1,500 people from national delegations, 1,700 international military and civilian personnel, 650 staff from NATO agencies, and about 500 to 1,000 visitors daily.

The complete relocation of all representations from the old headquarters building is expected to be finalized before the summit of heads of state or government of NATO member countries, which will host the new building on July 11 and 12.
