Optima Telekom ended the first quarter of 2018 with a revenue growth of 20.6 percent compared to the previous year, as well as an increase in operating profit (EBITDA) before one-off items of 5.2 percent.
The increase in total revenue was primarily driven by positive trends achieved from the services that are the focus of Optima Telekom’s offerings, namely multimedia and internet services. In addition to these services, revenues in the public voice service segment and data services have also increased.
Compared to the previous year, in the past quarter, Optima Telekom increased its multimedia revenue by 43.4 percent, while internet revenue grew by 39.4 percent. Revenues from public voice services also recorded an increase of 18.1 percent compared to the previous year.

Although the trend of declining revenue from public voice services has been present for some time, primarily as a result of the general global trend of decreasing use of public voice services, Optima Telekom is recording positive results in this segment mainly due to the impact of the merged H1 Telekom. The merger with H1 Telekom also contributed to positive results in data service revenues, which are up by 7.0 percent compared to the previous year.
Consolidated capital investments in the first quarter of 2018 amounted to 31.5 million kuna, of which 13.1 million kuna was invested in the development of the access optical network, expansion of the colocation network, and customer equipment for providing IPTV and internet services to residential users. 2.1 million kuna was invested in the core network, while 15.9 million kuna was invested in expanding services to customers.
