Today in Croatia: WinDays18 Begins

We announce the most important events in Croatia for Tuesday, April 24:

ČAKOVEC – Minister of Science and Education Blaženka Divjak will participate in the ceremonial marking of the tenth anniversary of the Međimurje Polytechnic in Čakovec and the opening of the Student Dormitory (11 AM, Međimurje Polytechnic in Čakovec, Ulica bana Josipa Jelačića 22a). After the ceremony, the minister will be available to the media for statements.

ZAGREB – The Union of Employees in Croatian Education ‘Preporod’ will hold a press conference on the topic: ‘Despair and Discrimination Directed by Minister Divjak’ at which the union president Željko Stipić and the president of the county council of secondary schools in the City of Zagreb Biljana Pavelić will speak (10:30 AM, Šubićeva 42, Zagreb).

ZAGREB – The president of the Zagreb City Assembly Andrija Mikulić will hold a press conference where he will speak about the upcoming 11th session of the assembly scheduled for April 26 (10 AM, Old City Hall, Ulica sv. Ćirila i Metoda 5).

ZAGREB – City representatives from the Left Block Club Tomislav Tomašević (Zagreb is OURS!), Rada Borić (New Left), Katarina Peović Vuković (Workers’ Front) and Svibor Jančić (For the City) will hold a press conference ahead of the session of the Zagreb City Assembly (11 AM, Old City Hall, Ulica sv. Ćirila i Metoda 5).

ZAGREB – The Association of Anti-Fascist Fighters and Anti-Fascists of the Republic of Croatia – Organizing Committee of the March will hold a press conference titled ‘Immortal Partisan Detachment’. Representatives of the Association will speak at the conference about ‘whether and who will organize the commemoration of Victory Day and the day of the liberation of the City of Zagreb from Nazifascism’.

ZAGREB – The trial of retired professor of the Faculty of Law in Osijek Srećko Jelinić and co-defendants charged by Uskok for the buying and selling of exams is expected to begin at the Zagreb County Court (10:15 AM, County Court, Zrinjevac 5).

ZAGREB – Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds Gabrijela Žalac and Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušić will open the “EU Funds Week” which, from April 24 to 27, will be held not only in Zagreb but also in Šibenik and Marija Bistrica. “EU Funds Week” is an educational and informational event organized since 2013 by the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds in cooperation with colleagues from other institutions in the EU funds management and control system, during which current financing opportunities from EU funds, results, successful projects, and challenges that applicants most often face will be presented to the general public, users, and potential users (10 AM, Hotel Panorama, Trg Krešimira Ćosića 9).

ZAGREB – Meeting of the Tourism Business Council of the Croatian Chamber of Economy where, among other things, the current course of the tourist season will be analyzed (11 AM, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Roosevelt Square 2).

ZAGREB – Conference Trends and Perspectives of E-Mobility, jointly organized by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Croatia and the companies Hrvatski Telekom, Mitsubishi Motors, and Porsche Croatia. The keynote speech will be delivered by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Energy Ivo Milatić (9 AM, Hotel Westin, Opera Hall, Izidora Kršnjavog 1).

POREČ – The traditional technology conference of Microsoft Croatia WinDays18 will be held from April 24 to 27 and will present the latest trends in modern business, good business practices with an emphasis on the financial and health industries, education, public administration, and retail to more than a thousand domestic and foreign participants (10 AM, Valamar Isabelle Island Resort, island of St. Nicholas near Poreč).

ZAGREB – Presentation of the new project of the GTC group “Matrix Office Park”, one of the largest investments in office space in Croatia. The “Matrix Office Park” in the first phase consists of two office buildings, each of which will have 10,000 square meters for lease. The total investment will exceed 300 million kuna (10:30 AM, construction site of Matrix Office Park, Slavonska Avenue 8).

NEDELJANEC – Commissioning of the reconstructed Nedeljanec transformer station 110/35/20 kV in Nedeljanec. The Nedeljanec transformer station is a joint electrical energy facility of the Croatian Transmission System Operator – Transmission Area Zagreb and HEP-Distribution System Operator – Elektre Varaždin. The total investment value of the reconstructed 35 kV (distribution) part of the Nedeljanec transformer station amounts to 20.5 million kuna (11 AM, location of the transformer station, Prigradska Street 17).
