We announce the most important events in Croatia for Monday, April 23:
ZAGREB – The session of the Economic and Social Council will be held at the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts (3:30 PM, Ul. grada Vukovara 78). Camera crews and photo reporters can capture the beginning of the session after which statements for the media are possible.
ZAGREB – Minister of Science and Education Blaženka Divjak will visit the Info Center for the Curriculum Reform “School for Life,” which opens on Berislavićeva Street, and will meet with project team members and hold a meeting with mentoring groups. Accompanying the minister will be assistant Lidija Kralj and Tomislav Stojak, a member of the Education and Sports Committee of the City Assembly of Zagreb. After the official visit, statements for the media are planned from Minister Blaženka Divjak and Arijana Blažević, a member of the mentoring group monitoring the process of introducing the curriculum reform in schools (10 AM, Ulica Petra Berislavića 16).
ZAGREB – The Croatian Journalists’ Association/Environmental Journalists’ Association and HEP Supply Zagreb are organizing a ceremonial award presentation for the Velebitska degenija for the best journalistic works in the field of environmental and nature protection for 2017 (12 PM, large hall of the Journalists’ Home, Perkovčeva 2).
DUBROVNIK – Signing of the contract for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge between Hrvatske ceste and the Chinese consortium China Road and Bridge Corporation, as well as the contract for construction supervision with the consortium of bidders including the Institute IGH, the Center for Construction Organization, and Invest Engineering. Hrvatske ceste received three bids in the tender for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge and in January of this year selected the bid from the Chinese consortium, at a price of 2.08 billion kuna (excluding VAT). At the beginning of April, the consortium of bidders was selected for the supervision of the construction of the land-Pelješac bridge with access roads, which included the Institute IGH, the Center for Construction Organization, and Invest Engineering, which submitted a bid of 49.4 million kuna (excluding VAT). The signing of these contracts will also include Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković, Minister of State Property Goran Marić, Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Gabrijela Žalac, and Minister of Administration Lovro Kuščević. The contract with the contractors for the construction of the land-Pelješac bridge with access roads will be signed by the CEO of Hrvatske ceste Josip Škorić and the authorized representative of the consortium/bidder community Zhang Xiaoyuan. The contract for the supervision of the construction works on the bridge will be signed by the CEO of Hrvatske ceste Josip Škorić and the CEO of IGH Oliver Kumrić (10:30 AM, Hotel Excelsior, Frana Supila 12).
