Siemens Croatia, recently led by Medeja Lončar, has established the first superfast self-renewing network in Croatia as a pilot project for HEP ODS in the distribution area of Elektra Koprivnica. This is a unique solution in Europe – it is the first superfast self-renewing network based on a decentralized system and wireless technology.

Siemens engineers have overcome very demanding technical conditions and created a system that eliminates faults and reconfigures the network in less than 0.3 seconds. The power interruption has been reduced to such an extent that devices connected to the network do not even notice it. For example, a computer or TV will not turn off and behaves as if there was no power interruption.

– We wanted to introduce an innovative automation system that restores power to the network at such speed that customers will not feel the power interruption. We are proud that Siemens Croatia is the first to implement such a solution, and HEP ODS has proven to be a true partner in the project with Elektrocentar Petek and Mikrolink, confirming that it follows global trends and has top experts in smart grid technology. We are pleased that it chose Siemens as a partner in the implementation of this project, said Josip Tošić, head of key projects in the Energy Management department of Siemens Croatia.
