Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, who announced that he would visit the area of Jasenovac on Sunday, is not welcome in Croatia at this time, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs announced on Saturday.
The ministry states that on Saturday it condemned Vulin’s statement in a note sent to the Serbian embassy in Zagreb, in which he claims that the decision regarding his arrival in Croatia “can be made by the Supreme Commander of the Army of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, and Croatian ministers cannot decide on this matter.”

“Due to the above-cited statement, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, is not welcome in the Republic of Croatia until further notice,” the MVEP statement reads.
The ministry reminded in the note sent to the Serbian embassy that Croatia is a sovereign state, a member of the European Union and NATO, where the entry of foreigners is decided exclusively by the competent Croatian institutions, in accordance with Croatian laws.
