The current director of USKOK, Tamara Laptoš, whose term is expiring, will be the acting director starting Monday, as reported by the State Attorney’s Office.

– The Chief State Attorney of the Republic of Croatia, based on Article 21, paragraph 3 of the State Attorney’s Office Act and Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Act on the Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime, has issued a decision authorizing the Deputy Chief State Attorney of the Republic of Croatia, Tamara Laptoš, to perform the duties of the Director of USKOK from April 16, 2018, for a maximum of six months, responded to a journalist’s inquiry by the spokesperson of the State Attorney’s Office, Martina Mihordin.
Laptoš has been at the helm of USKOK since April 16, 2014, when she succeeded Dinko Cvitan, who became the Chief State Attorney instead of Mladen Bajić.
The competition for the head of USKOK was supposed to be concluded four months before the expiration of Tamara Laptoš’s term, but Cvitan, who is rumored not to remain at the head of the State Attorney’s Office, reportedly did not want to impose his candidates on his possible successor, according to media reports.
