President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker stated on Saturday that the European Union supports allied strikes on the forces of the Syrian regime and called for it to stop using chemical weapons.
Tusk wrote in a message on Twitter that “the strikes by the USA, France, and Britain clearly show that the Syrian regime, together with Russia and Iran, cannot prolong this human tragedy, at least not without a cost.”

“The EU will stand by our allies on the side of justice,” Tusk stated.
Juncker called on the Syrian government to stop using chemical weapons.
“This is not the first time that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons against civilians, but it must be the last,” Juncker stated in a press release.
